Dry
- 1 ½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional but delicious)
Wet
- 2 large eggs
- ¾ cup (150 g) sugar
- ½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- 1 cup (240 g) plain yogurt (Greek or regular)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Apple
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1 tbsp flour (to coat apples and prevent sinking)
- Optional: 1 tbsp lemon juice (keeps apples fresh)
🧁 Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch (20 cm) round or square pan, or line with parchment paper.
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until slightly pale.
- Add oil, yogurt, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Add dry mix to wet ingredients. Fold gently—do not overmix.
- Toss diced apples with 1 tbsp flour, then fold into the batter.
- Pour batter into pan, smooth the top.
- Bake 35–45 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool 10 minutes before slicing.
🍯 Optional Toppings
- A dusting of powdered sugar

- A sprinkle of cinnamon sugar
- A dollop of vanilla yogurt or whipped cream
