- Make the Secret Sauce
- In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Caramelize the Onions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add a little butter or oil.
- Cook onions slowly, stirring occasionally, for 10–15 minutes until golden brown and caramelized. Remove and set aside.
- Cook the Patties
- Form ground beef into 4 thin oval patties slightly larger than the bread.
