Prep Time: 15 mins | Chill Time: 20 mins | Total Time: 35 mins
Makes: 18–24 clusters
Ingredients
-
2 cups (100g) mini pretzel twists, roughly crushed (not too fine)
-
1 cup (180g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
-
1 cup (180g) peanut butter chips (or butterscotch chips)
-
½ cup (130g) creamy peanut butter (not natural/oily style)
-
2 tbsp unsalted butter
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
Optional: Flaky sea salt for finishing
Instructions
-
Prep Pan: Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
-
Crush Pretzels: Place pretzels in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin into small pieces and crumbs (keep some texture).
-
Melt Together: In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each, until completely smooth (about 1½–2 minutes total). Stir in vanilla.
-
Combine: Pour crushed pretzels into the melted mixture and stir until evenly coated.
-
Form Clusters: Drop tablespoon-sized mounds onto the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with flaky salt if desired.
-
Chill: Refrigerate for 20 minutes, or until set. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
Tips & Variations
-
Keep Texture: Don’t over-crush the pretzels—you want chunks for crunch.
-
Double Boiler Option: Melt ingredients over a pot of simmering water if avoiding a microwave.
-
Add-Ins: Stir in ¼ cup roasted peanuts, Rice Krispies, or mini marshmallows.
-
Flavor Twists: Use white chocolate chips and almond butter for a different profile.
-
Gifting: Package in decorative bags or boxes—they travel well and stay firm.
